Humphreys Concerts by the Bay 2026 โ€” Your Guide to Live Music on Shelter Island This Spring and Summer

If you've never seen a show at Humphreys Concerts by the Bay on Shelter Island, fix that this year. The 1,400-seat outdoor venue at 2241 Shelter Island Drive sits right on the water, surrounded by San Diego Bay, palm trees, and the lights of Point Loma behind you. Founded in 1982 as a small jazz bar with plastic tables, Humphreys has grown into one of the best outdoor concert venues on the West Coast. The 2026 season is stacked.

Highlights from the 2026 Lineup

Cheap Trick kicks things off with a sold-out show. Pat Metheny brings Side-Eye III+ on May 8th. Paul Anka plays May 19th with hits spanning seven consecutive decades of Billboard chart appearances. Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Evening lands on May 21st. Mac DeMarco takes the stage May 23rd. And George Thorogood & The Destroyers with the Robert Cray Band hit on August 12th. That's just a sample. The full season runs 50-plus shows from April through October.

What to Know Before You Go

Humphreys is cashless now. Credit, debit, or gift card only at all points of sale. Parking on-site runs $25, but there are free public lots nearby on Shelter Island. Gates open one hour before showtime. Will call opens two hours prior. Bags can't be larger than 12 by 12 by 6 inches. No outside food or drinks. Blankets are fine. Umbrellas are not.

This is an outdoor venue, rain or shine. But on a typical San Diego summer night, the weather is about as close to perfect as it gets. The bay breeze, the sound carrying across the water, the intimacy of 1,400 seats where nobody feels far from the stage. There's a reason artists keep coming back.

Make a Night of It on Shelter Island

Humphreys Half Moon Inn is right next door, and they run hotel-dinner-concert packages that include front-row seating. Humphreys Backstage Live is the smaller indoor lounge on the same property, with live R&B, jazz, and dance bands on nights when the big stage is dark.

For dinner before the show, Bali Hai Restaurant is a five-minute drive. Brigantine Seafood & Oyster Bar is even closer. Ketch Grill and Taps works for something casual, and Fathom Bistro at the public fishing pier is worth the detour if you've got the time. The Boatyard, a new steakhouse and speakeasy opening this summer at the former Fiddler's Green location, will add another pre-show option on Shelter Island Drive.

If you're staying overnight, Kona Kai San Diego Resort, Island Palms Hotel & Marina, and The Bay Club Hotel & Marina are all on or near Shelter Island with marina views and waterfront access.

Tickets are available at the Humphreys box office and through Ticketmaster. Check the Point Loma entertainment page for more live music and events across the peninsula.
