I live in Coronado. And when I moved here, I couldn't find one place — one single directory — that listed every business on this island. Not Google, not Yelp, not the Chamber of Commerce. Nowhere had a complete, accurate, neighborhood-level directory that actually served the community.
So I built one.
San Diego Lineup started as a personal project born out of that frustration. But the more I built, the more I realized this wasn't just a Coronado problem — it was a San Diego problem. Every neighborhood deserves a single place where residents can find what they need and business owners can be found.
I was born here. I grew up watching the Chargers practice at Sunset Park in La Mesa back in 1972. I spent years in East County before building a 15-year career as a distributor across San Diego — getting to know every corner of this county, every neighborhood, every community that makes this city what it is.
After that, I spent 20 years in San Diego real estate, selling over 250 homes and learning firsthand what it takes for a local business to get noticed. I watched small businesses struggle to be found online, buried under big-box results and national chains. I saw how much a neighborhood's identity is shaped by the businesses that serve it — the family restaurants, the local plumbers, the barber shops that have been around for decades.
That experience is what drives San Diego Lineup. I know these neighborhoods. I know what local businesses need. And I know that when you make it easy for people to find what's in their own community, everyone benefits.
San Diego Lineup is a free civic business directory covering 30 neighborhoods across San Diego County. We're building the most comprehensive, neighborhood-by-neighborhood business index this city has ever had — starting with Coronado and expanding across the county.
Every business gets listed. Every owner can claim and update their information for free. No subscriptions required. No paywalls to be found. No login needed.
