Coronado's 2026 event calendar started big with the Flower Show and NASCAR, and it's not slowing down. Concerts in the Park is running right now through August, Lamb's Players Theatre has shows on stage, and the Art & Wine Festival hits Orange Avenue in September. Here's what's still on the island calendar and a quick look back at what already happened.
Concerts in the Park: Now Through August
The free Sunday evening concert series at Spreckels Park is in full swing. Produced by Coronado Promenade Concerts since the early 1970s, the series runs 16 shows from late May through August. Bring a blanket, pack a picnic, grab a spot near the gazebo on Orange Avenue. Shows start at 6 PM and the crowd skews families, retirees, and anyone who'd rather spend a Sunday evening outside.
It's free. No tickets, no reservations. Just show up. But the regulars will tell you to arrive by 5 if you want a decent spot near the stage.
Lamb's Players Theatre: Season in Progress
Lamb's Players Theatre continues its professional season at the Coronado Playhouse. The company has been producing shows on the island for decades and draws audiences from across San Diego County. Check their site for the current production schedule and ticket availability.
Art & Wine Festival: September 2026
The annual Coronado Art & Wine Festival typically takes over four blocks of Orange Avenue in mid-September. Local and regional artists show original work alongside live music, food vendors, and wine tasting. It's one of the island's biggest single-weekend draws and a solid excuse to spend an afternoon walking the main drag. Exact dates for 2026 haven't been announced yet, but the event has run on the same weekend for years.
What Already Happened This Year
The 104th Coronado Flower Show filled Spreckels Park on April 18–19 with the theme "Welcome to the Jungle." The nation's largest tented flower show brought floral competitions, landscape displays, live music, a beer and wine garden, and a shopping village to the park. The Coronado Floral Association produced the event, continuing a tradition that started in 1922.
NASCAR brought a Cup Series race weekend to Naval Air Station North Island on June 19–21. It was the first time NASCAR held a race on an active military installation. And it put Coronado on national sports broadcasts for an entire weekend.
The Historic Home Tour opened doors to some of Coronado's most architecturally significant private residences on Mother's Day, May 10.
Between Events
Coronado Beach is always open and consistently ranked among the best beaches in the country. Rent a bike from Holland's Bicycles and ride the Silver Strand, or book a day on the bay through Seaforth Boat Rentals.
