Information We Collect
We collect information in a few different ways depending on how you use San Diego Lineup.
Information you provide directly. When you claim a business listing, submit a business, contact us through the Site, or update listing information, you provide information such as your name, email address, phone number, business name, business address, and any details or photos you upload. We only ask for what we need to process your request.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, San Diego Lineup collects limited technical information automatically when you visit, including your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring website, pages visited, and the approximate time you spent on each page. This information is collected through cookies and similar technologies and is used for analytics, security, and improving how the Site works.
Information from third-party analytics and advertising tools. San Diego Lineup uses Google Analytics 4 and the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure Site traffic, understand how visitors interact with the Site, and support our advertising on those platforms. These tools set cookies and collect information about your visit, including pages viewed and actions taken. Google and Meta may combine this information with data they collect from other websites and services.
We do not knowingly collect Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, precise geolocation, biometric data, or other sensitive categories of personal information.
How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Display and maintain business listings on the Site
- Process claim requests and listing updates submitted by business owners
- Respond to questions and requests sent through our contact form
- Measure how visitors use the Site and improve its content and layout
- Support and measure our advertising on Google, Meta, and other platforms
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security threats
- Comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes, except as described below.
How We Share Information
We share information only in limited circumstances:
- Service providers. We use third-party services to host the Site, process submissions, send emails, and measure analytics. These providers access information only as needed to perform their functions and are contractually required to protect it.
- Google Analytics and Meta Pixel. As described above, these analytics and advertising tools receive information about your visit. You can learn more about Google's practices at policies.google.com/privacy and Meta's practices at facebook.com/privacy/policy.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or valid legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of San Diego Lineup, our users, or others.
- Business transfers. If San Diego Lineup is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We'll provide notice before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
We do not share information with advertisers for their independent use, and we do not sell personal information to data brokers.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
San Diego Lineup uses cookies and similar technologies for analytics, advertising measurement, and basic Site functionality. Cookies are small data files stored on your device that help websites remember information about your visit.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, though doing so may affect how the Site works. You can also opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, and you can manage Meta's ad preferences in your Facebook account settings.
Do Not Track. Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal. Because there is no industry consensus on how to respond to these signals, San Diego Lineup does not currently respond to them. We will revisit this if a standard is adopted.
Data Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Site, respond to your requests, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Business listing information is retained as long as the listing is active on the Site. Contact form submissions and claim submissions are retained for a reasonable period after resolution.
When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize it.

Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information we collect from loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access. However, no Site or data transmission is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you use the Site at your own risk.
