Few traditions define Coronado more than Concerts in the Park. Every summer since the early 1970s, families, military members, retirees, and visitors have gathered at Spreckels Park — the green heart of the island at Seventh Street and Orange Avenue — for free live music on Sunday evenings. The series is produced by Coronado Promenade Concerts, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and typically features 16 concerts stretching from late May through the end of August.
What to Expect in 2026
The 2026 lineup has not yet been announced as of this writing, but Coronado Promenade Concerts has confirmed the series will return for another summer season. Based on past years, expect a diverse mix of acts — tribute bands, swing orchestras, rock groups, and local favorites — all performing at the Spreckels Park gazebo. The 2025 season included High Tide Society (yacht rock), Mirage (Fleetwood Mac tribute), American Flyboys (big band swing), the Navy Band Southwest's 32nd Street Brass Band, and local acts like Ron's Garage and Crown Town. Dance instruction is often offered before select concerts.
Tips for Concertgoers
Concerts are free and open to the public, but donations via the Red Bucket Brigade are encouraged. Regulars arrive early with blankets, low-back chairs, and picnic spreads. Orange Avenue is steps away for pre-concert dining — grab tacos at Habaneros Mexican Food, pizza from Village Pizzeria, or a full dinner at Brigantine Seafood & Oyster Bar. For dessert, MooTime Creamery is a short walk from the park.
Music Beyond the Park
Coronado's live music scene extends beyond Spreckels Park. McP's Irish Pub hosts live bands year-round on Orange Avenue. Lamb's Players Theatre runs a full season of professional productions. And just across the bridge, Humphreys Concerts by the Bay on Shelter Island is celebrating its 45th anniversary season in 2026 with headliners from April through October.
