Burgeon at The Arbor in downtown San Diego's Little Italy serves as the taproom and scratch kitchen for Burgeon Beer Company, a Carlsbad-founded brewery that three San Diego natives launched in 2016. The 17-foot-ceiling taproom at Kettner Boulevard and A Street features bar tops built from California cedar charred in the 2003 Cedar Fire, occupying the same Kettner craft-beer stretch as Stone Brewing Tap Room - Kettner to the south. Eighteen taps pour Burgeon's West Coast IPAs, hazy ales, and seasonal collaborations alongside California wines and hard kombucha, paired with a rotating scratch menu sourced from local farms and seasonal produce. The kitchen runs weekly specials — Tuesday tacos, Wednesday wings — alongside entrées like duck confit poutine and house-ground burgers, a from-scratch program that fits the culinary ambition of the Kettner corridor including Kettner Exchange nearby. Burgeon's National Forest Foundation partnership has planted more than 25,000 trees in California national forests, funded partly through sales of its Reclaim the Wild ale. Full-taproom buyouts accommodate private beer-pairing dinners with multi-course seasonal menus, on-site crowler packaging, and coordination for collaborative brew events with visiting producers.
