Furuno 270 Sonar-equipped bluefin specialist Mustang Sportfishing operates from Fisherman's Landing in Point Loma. The vessel has slipped at Fisherman's Landing on Garrison Street since 2021, running open-party and private charter formats across the Shelter Island basin alongside H&M Landing and Point Loma Sportfishing. A 2017 modernization added a spray brine fish hold, a dry blast system, and a climate-controlled bunk room sleeping up to 42 anglers on multi-day trips. Bluefin tuna runs in 1.5- to 3-day formats target the 100-mile bank and outer offshore banks spring through fall, with live-bait loads coordinated through the Fisherman's Landing barge. Full-day returns frequently end with group dinners at Mitch's Seafood on Scott Street, a five-minute walk south from the Fisherman's Landing dock. The remodeled galley seats 24 for custom-menu multi-day charters with chef-prepared meals and bunk accommodations during offshore runs. The most complex bookings are 3-day private tuna charters combining outer-bank runs with limited-angler loads, galley meals, and overnight bunk accommodations.
