About

Mission Brewing in downtown San Diego's East Village occupies the 1894 Wonder Bread building at 131 14th Street — a 25,000-square-foot historic structure with original brick walls, bow trusses, and massive wood pillars directly across from Petco Park. The brand traces to 1913 when the original Mission Brewery launched in Middletown before shuttering under Prohibition; it was revived in 2007 and relocated to the Wonder Bread building, anchoring an East Village craft beer district that includes Karl Strauss Brewing Company several blocks west. The core lineup spans Mission Blonde Ale, Hefeweizen, IPA, and Amber alongside bolder offerings like Dark Seas Imperial Stout, Shipwrecked Double IPA, and El Conquistador Extra Pale Ale — all brewed on-site with the full brewhouse visible from the tasting room floor and a dedicated bottling-line viewing area. A competition-length 1930s shuffleboard court, guided brewery tours, and growler fills round out the taproom experience, drawing the same pre-game and post-game traffic that flows through the East Village corridor past House of Blues San Diego. Private events accommodate up to 400 in the cavernous tasting room with full brewery access, custom tap lists, and tour programming for corporate outings and large-group celebrations.
