Fiesta del Sol 2026 in Solana Beach: Los Lobos, The English Beat, and 45 Years of Free Music at Fletcher Cove

Fiesta del Sol turns 45 this year. The Solana Beach Chamber of Commerce started it in the early 1980s as a one-day street fair, and it's grown into the biggest free music and arts festival on the North County coast. This year it runs Saturday, May 30 and Sunday, May 31 at Fletcher Cove Park in Solana Beach.

The Belly Up Tavern is booking the lineup, which is how you end up with Los Lobos headlining on Saturday and The English Beat playing the pre-party at the Belly Up on Friday night. The full lineup includes Common Sense, the FABBA Show (an ABBA tribute), Pine Mountain Logs, Atomic Groove, Jessie Lark, Cody Carter, The McCharmlys, Sea Poodle, Easy Wind, and the Morgan Wallen Experience. Over 14 acts across two stages, two days, zero ticket cost.

What's at the Festival

Beyond the music, Fiesta del Sol fills Fletcher Cove Park with an arts and crafts fair, food trucks, a beer and wine garden, and a dedicated Kids Zone with rides, games, and a climbing wall. The Solana Beach Fireman's Pancake Breakfast runs Sunday morning. The Lions Club operates the wine garden and raises funds for local causes. The Cedros Design District, a few blocks away, runs its own bands and shopping specials during the weekend, so the festival effectively extends across the whole town.

Hours and Details

Saturday runs from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Sunday runs from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. There's no admission charge. The festival site at Fletcher Cove Park sits right on the coast, which means you can watch a band, walk down to the beach, and come back for the next set. The Solana Beach Coaster station is a few blocks away for anyone coming from downtown San Diego or other coastal stops.

Where to Eat Before and After

Fletcher Cove is walking distance from Solana Beach's growing restaurant scene. Lana, which opened in June 2025 in the old California Pizza Kitchen spot on Highway 101, has been drawing praise for its coastal California menu. Colosseo, a Roman-Sicilian restaurant, opened on Lomas Santa Fe Drive in December 2025. Rare Society steakhouse has been a Solana Beach anchor for years. And the Belly Up Cafe sits right at the base of the Cedros Design District for coffee and sandwiches.

For visitors coming from other parts of San Diego, the Encinitas dining corridor on Coast Highway 101 is five minutes north. Le Papagayo, Biergarden Encinitas, and The Taco Stand are all close enough for a pre-festival lunch. Del Mar is five minutes south, with Jake's Del Mar and Sbicca right on the water. Fiesta del Sol has been the unofficial start of summer in Solana Beach for 45 years. Free music, free entry, and a beach park setting. There's not a more efficient way to kick off the season on the North County coast.
