About

Housed inside a 1959 Robert Platt-designed motor lodge in Point Loma, The Pearl Restaurant serves seasonal California plates poolside at the 23-room boutique hotel on Rosecrans Street in the Sunset Cliffs corridor. The menu emphasizes farm-to-table sourcing from regional growers, ranchers, and fishermen, rotating dishes by season in a hotel-restaurant format that parallels waterfront dining at Bay Club Bar & Grill on the peninsula. The original Sportsman's Lodge architecture survives in the mid-century facade and art-moderne oyster-shaped pool, now ringed by semi-private cabanas and a tiled cocktail bar. The Wednesday Dive-In Movie series projects films onto the pool deck with full dinner and cocktail service at cabana-side tables, blending a screening program with the seasonal menu in a format no other Point Loma restaurant — including waterfront mainstay Blue Wave Bar & Grill — replicates. Private event buyouts convert the restaurant and pool deck into a single venue for seated dinners with custom cocktail menus and film-projection capability.
