Architect Robert Platt’s 1959 Point Loma motor court, The Pearl Hotel was reimagined in 2006 as a 23-room Casetta Group boutique on Rosecrans Street one block from America’s Cup Harbor near Sunset Cliffs. Casetta Group’s renovation preserved the mid-century stone accent walls and horseshoe courtyard while adding an oyster-shaped saltwater pool, Clé artisan tile work, and the on-site restaurant Charles + Dinorah, which plates locally sourced coastal cuisine alongside the same Rosecrans seafood corridor anchored by Vessel Restaurant. Dive-In movie nights project films onto a 10-by-13-foot screen above the pool, and rooms feature minimalist desert-hue interiors, walk-in rain showers, and in-room artwork paying homage to Japanese Ama pearl divers. The property participates in Hyatt’s World of Hyatt loyalty program and the Hilton Honors network, and the Rosecrans location puts natural-wine pours and small-lot vintages at Oddish Wine within a short walk. Semi-private poolside cabanas with built-in LCD screens and the intimate courtyard event space accommodate rehearsal dinners, brand activations, and private screenings for up to 50 guests.
