Every spring since 1973, the San Diego Crew Classic has drawn rowers from across the country to Crown Point on Mission Bay, making it the premier spring rowing regatta in the United States. This 501(c)(3) nonprofit is headquartered at 1875 Quivira Way C6 in San Diego, CA 92109, and its annual event attracts Masters, Youth, Para, and Collegiate competitors ranging from first-time racers to Olympic-caliber athletes. The 53rd edition of the regatta took place March 27–29, 2026, featuring a Jumbotron for spectators, a beer garden showcasing San Diego's craft breweries, Vendor Row with national rowing brands, and organized Alumni Row viewing areas. Families and visitors staying nearby at The Dana on Mission Bay can walk to the race course for a front-row experience. The organization also hosts the annual Rowing Cares San Diego event benefiting the Southern California breast cancer community, the Pride Sprints Regatta open to all ages and experience levels, and Learn to Row clinics each spring. Under President Mark Rose, the Crew Classic has partnered with USRowing to support coaching certification and athlete safeguarding across sanctioned regattas nationwide. The nonprofit is actively working toward becoming the world's greenest regatta, and its operations are funded entirely through donors, sponsors, and event stewards. Race weekend transforms the Crown Point shoreline into one of San Diego's signature spring events, with the Mission Bay Golf Course and Practice Center offering another recreational option in the area.
