Founded in 2004 as a Joint Commission-accredited psychiatric treatment center, Solara Mental Health is a residential and outpatient mental health clinic at 1321 Garnet Ave, 92109. The facility operates exclusively for United States military veterans with approved VA referrals and is fully contracted as a VA Community Care Network provider, meaning all authorized treatment costs are covered through VA benefits. Solara arranges and covers door-to-door travel from anywhere in the country to its San Diego location and back, and both service and non-service animals are welcome to accompany clients during their stay. The program reports that 83 percent of clients achieve a clinically significant reduction in symptoms, with 72 percent maintaining those improvements six months after completing treatment.
