Inside the Promenade at Pacific Beach shopping plaza at 4110 Mission Blvd, 92109, Flamingo Deck is a New American bar and restaurant with strong Italian influences and a tropical, lounge-forward atmosphere. The concept was launched by Aaron Phillips, founder of Pacific Beach Restaurant Group Limited Partnership, who established the company in 2011 with the opening of The Beachwood, later rebranded to El Prez Beach Bar & Cocina. The group also operates Truckstop, PB Avenue, Woody's, and Candy's Boom Room in Pacific Beach. Flamingo Deck occupies the former Tony Roma's space that sat vacant after the chain shuttered in 2016, and the buildout was years in the making. Designed as a tropical oasis in the middle of bustling PB, the interior features chaise lounge day beds, island-inspired decor, and a vibe the staff describes as a lush beach bungalow. Just steps away on the boardwalk, JRDN Restaurant provides another upscale coastal dining option with sweeping ocean views. Flamingo Deck spans a main dining area with a maximum capacity of 250 seated, an outdoor patio seating up to 45, and a hidden speakeasy called Laylow that accommodates 35 seated guests with its own private bar, adjustable lighting, and Bluetooth surround sound. Weekend brunch draws crowds for dishes like Crème Brûlée French Toast and the Pamplona Omelet, while the dinner menu moves through housemade pizzas, Chicken Piccata, Shrimp Scampi, and a short rib entrée. The tiramisu espresso martini has become a signature cocktail and a crowd favorite across San Diego. Vegan diners have options including plant-based cheese and crust for any pizza. Happy hour runs Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m. with discounted cocktails, wines, beers, and freshly baked pizzas. The restaurant is also a vocal home base for Miami Dolphins fans on game days, and fellow beachside venue Waterbar on Ocean Blvd shares a similar energy with its oceanfront cocktails and seafood-driven menu. Two hours of complimentary underground parking come with every visit, and dogs are welcome both inside and on the patio.
