Opened in November 2023 inside a 1930s-era building at 4996 W Point Loma Blvd that previously housed Thee Bungalow and BO-beau, Elvira is the second restaurant from the Cesarina Group—Niccolò Angius, chef Cesarina Mezzoni, and Giuseppe Capasso. The kitchen centers on traditional Roman dishes—cacio e pepe, handmade gnocchi dedicated to Thursdays, wood-fired pizzas from a hybrid gas stove on the covered patio—carrying the same scratch-pasta DNA that earned sister restaurant Cesarina San Diego Magazine's Best Pasta honor. Italian architecture firm Limes Architetti handled the 2,400-square-foot remodel, installing checkered floors, marble tabletops, wood paneling, and vintage family portraits sourced by the owners. A private dining room modeled after Angius's grandmother's home accommodates seated events, and the full bar pours Italian-leaning cocktails and wines that complement a beverage culture extending down to Vinum Locus nearby. The most complex plate on the rotating menu pairs multi-course ticketed dinner formats with seasonal Roman antipasti, handmade pastas, and whole-animal secondi built around Mezzoni's central-Italian training.
