Cesarina earned MICHELIN Bib Gourmand recognition for its handmade Italian pasta program, which the kitchen produces in an open-air Pastificio at the back of the dining room visible to every table. Cold-fermented dough yields lumache, fettuccine, and ravioli rotated through daily specials, with bottle pairings sourced from a wine list that overlaps in scope with the retail bottle wall at The 3rd Corner Wine Shop & Bistro elsewhere in the Point Loma corridor. Three Italy natives — including the namesake Roman-trained chef — opened the trattoria in 2019 in the heart of Point Loma. The signature tableside tiramisu is built mascarpone-and-ladyfinger by hand in front of guests at the close of the meal, competing for dessert occasions with the artisan scoop counters at Stella Jean's Ice Cream on Newport Avenue. Valet parking covers Thursday-through-Sunday evenings on Voltaire Street directly in front of the building. Private dining and group catering run from 20 guests up to full buyouts for anniversaries, milestone birthdays, and corporate dinners staged in the bougainvillea-strewn covered patio.
