AER Gelato — operating under the heritage trade name An's Electronics Repair — opened on Bacon Street in April 2025 as the fourth concept from a four-founder team led by a Chief Gelato Officer who spent over a decade as a gelato consultant to Michelin restaurants across Europe. The Ocean Beach menu launched with a tech-themed collaboration lineup, anchored by Power Supply, a coffee gelato built on beans from Newport Avenue roaster OB Beans Coffee Roasters. Other flagship builds run Motherboard (70-percent double dark chocolate gelato laced with Skrewball peanut butter whiskey), Riquimbili (pistachio gelato folded with Azucar's passion-fruit-and-raspberry caramel using nearly three pounds of pistachios per batch), and Bluetooth (vegan coconut gelato infused with five pounds of coconut and blue spirulina). The pozzetti case and salvaged retro electronics — VHS tapes, oscilloscopes, vintage TVs serving as menu boards — were assembled with a designer who also worked on Raglan Public House and the Pearl Hotel redesign. The Bacon Street shop sits within the broader Ocean Beach dessert corridor alongside Scoops Ocean Beach in the same dessert lineup, though pozzetti-served Italian gelato runs at lower fat content and softer texture than the American hard ice cream most beach scoop shops carry. The most production-heavy build on the rotating menu is Riquimbili, a multi-component pistachio gelato that requires hand-blending fresh pistachio butter, folding in crushed pistachios for texture, and ribboning in a passion-fruit-and-raspberry caramel sourced from a neighborhood bakery partner.
