Holding an MA from Buffalo State College and a fine-arts degree from Alfred University, Gretchen Weidner Artist relocated to San Diego in 2014 and now works from a Del Mar Avenue studio in OB’s 92107. Her mural portfolio—over twenty-five installations across San Diego including the Lafayette Hotel, the Little Italy Association, and a Mira Mesa tech campus—shares OB’s creative corridor with Claytime Ceramics and its hands-on workshop calendar. A third-generation woman artist, she developed the ‘It Could Be You’ portrait series featuring sunglasses-selfie canvases whose reflective lenses depict local landscapes from California to New York. Original paintings, giclee prints, and licensed merchandise stock both a Hamburg, New York, gallery and the OB studio, placing her work within the same neighborhood gallery circuit as Maui Diego. The most involved commissions remain large-scale exterior murals requiring multi-day scaffold work on commercial and residential facades.
