About

Barona Creek Golf Club in Lakeside stretches across the Wildcat Canyon corridor at the Barona Resort & Casino complex, offering an 18-hole championship layout designed by Gary Roger Baird and Todd Eckenrode that opened in 2001. More than 100 strategically placed bunkers and an oak tree splitting the opening fairway define a links-style design on the same Wildcat Canyon Road campus that hosts Barona Speedway for motorsport weekends. Three tee sets — Black/Gold at 7,075 yards (slope 140, rating 73.8), Silver/White at 6,284 yards, and Burgundy at 5,296 yards — scale the course from PGA-caliber challenge to intermediate play on Bermuda-grass fairways. Every cart carries an uplink GPS system for yardage mapping, and the surrounding Wildcat Canyon terrain connects to hiking at Louis A. Stelzer County Park just south on the same road. The pro shop stocks current-season Callaway, Travis Mathew, and Cutter & Buck lines, and the full-service practice area includes a driving range with six tee stations, a putting green, and a chipping green.
