Boys & Girls Clubs of East County's Lakeside Clubhouse has served youth ages 6 through 18 on Lakeshore Drive in Lakeside since 1981, situated on the campus of Lindo Park School. The clubhouse sits steps from Lindo Lake County Park, giving members direct access to walking trails, playgrounds, and green space for outdoor programming. A chartered member of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, the East County affiliate was established in 1961 and now runs five facilities across Lakeside, El Cajon, La Mesa, and Santee, collectively enrolling nearly 2,500 members. Core programming spans five focus areas — character and leadership, education and career development, health and life skills, the arts, and sports and recreation — delivered inside a gymnasium, STEM lab, homework room, art room, and dedicated teen center that draws from feeder campuses like El Capitan High School on Ashwood Street. No child is denied access due to inability to pay membership dues, with scholarship funding underwritten by community donors and corporate partners across East County San Diego.
