About

University of Geneva Faculty of Medicine graduate Dr. Nadine Benador joined the UC San Diego School of Medicine pediatrics faculty in 2000 and serves as Clinical Professor of Pediatrics and Director of the Pediatric Dialysis and Apheresis Programs at Rady Children's Hospital-San Diego. Outpatient pediatric nephrology clinics run through the UCSD Hillcrest campus at 200 W Arbor Dr under the broader UCSD Medical Group faculty practice. Benador's clinical expertise covers pediatric dialysis from neonates through young adults, pediatric apheresis including stem cell collection and therapeutic plasma exchange, and chronic kidney disease management for patients up to 21. The Rady Children's Comprehensive Kidney Care Center operates a five-station hemodialysis unit with ultrapure water processing, kidney transplant services, peritoneal dialysis, and joint Stone and Lupus clinics with pediatric urology and rheumatology. Maternal-fetal counseling for prenatal kidney diagnoses coordinates directly with UC San Diego Health Obstetrics and Gynecology Hillcrest, supporting prenatal workup for fetal kidney anomalies at the Hillcrest campus. The most complex cases involve intraperitoneal vancomycin protocols for peritoneal dialysis-associated peritonitis in infants and pediatric kidney transplant candidates transitioning to adult nephrology care through the joint UCSD-Rady program.
