Founded in 1972, The San Diego LGBT Community Center anchors LGBTQ+ behavioral health from a campus at 3909 Centre Street in Hillcrest and operates one of the country's first same-sex domestic violence intervention programs. The Behavioral Health Services department delivers individual and group therapy, crisis counseling, and psychiatric care, plus intake referrals to allied primary care at Hillcrest Family Health Center for clients needing PrEP, hormone monitoring, or HIV management. RVTIP, the credentialed 52-week batterer-intervention curriculum, runs Tuesday cohorts on-site and accepts both court-ordered and self-referred participants. Project TRANS coordinates case management, peer support, and gender-affirming clinical referrals for transgender and nonbinary San Diegans across the county. Wraparound services route clients to community partners including Stronger Together Community Services when long-term peer recovery supports are needed beyond the Center's curriculum slots. The Hillcrest Youth Center on Robinson Avenue extends the model to ages 10-24 and combines on-site clinical therapy, psychiatric care, and HIV testing inside a single drop-in space for the county's highest-need LGBTQ+ adolescents.
