About

Founded in 1980 in a restored art-deco building on Mission Hills' historic Washington Street corridor, Mission Gallery Antiques is the working storefront of two partners whose combined antiques-trade experience exceeds eighty years. The gallery operates on a by-appointment basis at 320 W Washington Street in Mission Hills, curating 17th-through-20th-century American, European, Asian, and Middle Eastern furnishings alongside international folk art that overlaps dealer territory with Mission Hills peer Folk Art International. Specialty categories on the floor include bronze and marble sculpture, oil paintings, estate silver and silver plate, Asian porcelain and carpets, and a concentrated vintage-watch and pocket-watch case that draws collectors from across Southern California. The shop also handles on-location estate appraisals, private-party buying, and fine-art packing and crating for clients shipping pieces cross-country, a service tier offered in parallel with the retail floor since the gallery's 1980 founding. Vintage jewelry intake runs parallel to the specialty watch business and feeds the same estate-buyer and appraisal circuit as Hillcrest's Goldworks Gallery. The gallery's most complex commissions involve de-accessioning full multi-generation estates containing mixed museum-grade fine art, antique furniture, and rare silver, including assessment, cataloging, crated shipment, and placement at auction or with private collectors.
