Founded in 1937 and running San Diego's oldest continuously operating furniture showroom, Lawrance Furniture holds exclusive territory membership in the Contemporary Design Group buying cooperative. The University Avenue floor carries Stressless recliners, American Leather Comfort Sleeper sofas, BDI media cabinets, and Copeland sustainable case goods imported from Italy, Spain, Canada, Germany, and the US, with much of the inventory specified directly into residential interiors designed by Aesthetics Inc. In-house design consultants build to-scale 3D renderings of each client's room before any order is placed, reducing costly fit mistakes on sectionals, sleeper sofas, and custom dining sets. Modern residential projects drafted by Safdie Rabines Architects route custom-upholstery specifications through this showroom for low-profile sectionals and banquettes configured to open-plan floorplans. Custom orders change leather, fabric, wood, metal, glass, and lacquer finishes across most collections, and the in-house white-glove delivery team handles staging, leveling, and removal of existing pieces across San Diego County. The most complex work handled at the showroom is full whole-home furnishing plans for 4,000-plus square-foot modern residences — coordinating living-room sectionals, dining sets, bedroom suites, and home-office configurations across a single delivery window.
