Community Resource Center's Encinitas Resale Store on Encinitas Boulevard channels every purchase toward ending hunger, homelessness, and domestic violence in North San Diego County. The store stocks donated clothing, shoes, small appliances, jewelry, bedding, books, and furniture on constant rotation, a community-donation retail model also reflected in the secondhand home goods at Antique Mall on South El Camino Real. CRC's San Marcos Unified Workability partnership, running since 2009, places transition-age students in the store to build retail and customer-service skills through supervised work experience. Proceeds fund Pacifica Shelter housing assistance, a 24-hour domestic violence hotline, and the Food & Nutrition Center, making each transaction part of the same nonprofit retail infrastructure that supports Friends of the Encinitas Library Bookstore. In 2019 alone, three CRC Resale Stores collectively diverted an estimated 372,000 cubic feet of material from landfill through over 31,000 individual donation drop-offs.
