Seeds of Hope on Santa Fe Drive in Encinitas is a 501(c)(3) established under EIN 37-1856287 to provide tutoring, mentorship, and cultural-integration support for refugee children and their families resettling in San Diego County. The Education Empowerment Project launched in 2021 targets students of legal African immigrant families who test three to five grade levels behind, pairing them with volunteer tutors in reading, math, and SAT/ACT preparation through a resource network that includes the Friends of the Encinitas Library Bookstore on South Coast Highway 101. Extracurricular programming supplements academics with hiking, fishing, and community outings designed to build social confidence and English-language fluency outside classroom settings. Internship placement connects qualified teens and young adults with local businesses for vocational exposure, a workforce pipeline supported by community partners including Venture Church on Rancho Santa Fe Road. Seeds of Hope Academy's highest-intensity track combines individualized grade-level remediation with college-application coaching and driver's-permit preparation to equip aging-out refugee youth with the documentation and skills required for independent adult life.
