From its administrative office at City Hall on South Vulcan Avenue, Encinitas Parks & Recreation coordinates programs and facility management across more than 20 community parks, three sports parks, a world-class skatepark, and a two-acre off-leash dog park. The department's recreation programming spans fitness classes, youth day camps, cultural arts workshops, and senior services, including partnerships with fitness providers like CorePower Yoga - Encinitas that serve the same wellness-oriented resident base. City-wide special events produced by the department include the Holiday Parade, Spring Egg Hunt, Movies in the Park, Summer Concerts, and Cyclovia, plus management of the Junior Lifeguard Program through the Marine Safety division. The Parks, Beaches and Trails Division maintains 10 miles of recreational trails and six miles of beach frontage, while the department oversees the Encinitas Ranch Golf Authority, which operates the par-72 championship course at Encinitas Ranch Golf Course with panoramic ocean views. Athletic field allocation at Cardiff Sports Park, Encinitas Community Park, Leo Mullen, and Paul Ecke Sports Park follows a collaboratively managed policy that coordinates use among qualified community youth sports organizations.
