Art Glass Association of Southern California in downtown San Diego's Balboa Park holds IRS ruling-year status from 1983 (EIN 95-3785963) and ranks among the oldest active glass membership organizations in the country. The association operates Studio 25 inside Spanish Village Art Center at 1770 Village Place, where it provides fiscal sponsorship for the Art Glass Guild, a 35-member retail collective selling blown, fused, kiln-formed, and lamp-worked glass on-site. Members work across disciplines that include stained glass repair and restoration, sandblast etching, mosaic construction, torch-work bead and jewelry fabrication, and large-scale cast glass sculpture. The annual juried members' exhibition at Gallery 21 draws judges from the national glass-art circuit and awards across categories including hot glass, cold work, wearable art, kiln-formed, and mixed media, positioning the show within the broader craft-exhibition corridor that includes Mingei International Museum. Workshop programming has ranged from dichroic glass cold-working and polishing techniques at the Village Place studio to collaborative sessions with the Museum of Neon Art, equipping members to execute architectural-scale commissions and large-format installation pieces.
