About

Art Glass Guild in downtown San Diego's Balboa Park has operated Studio 25 inside Spanish Village Art Center, steps from the San Diego Zoo, as one of California's largest all-glass artist cooperatives since 1998. The nonprofit collective of 35 juried glass artists runs under the fiscal sponsorship of the Art Glass Association of Southern California, a 501(c)(3) founded in 1981, and maintains a retail gallery within the broader Spanish Village Art Center campus of 250-plus working artists. Techniques on display and for sale span blown, fused, torch-worked, stained, mosaic, sandblasted, etched, cast, and wire-wrapped glass, with each member volunteering studio time to demonstrate their medium to the public. Semi-annual patio sales bring all 35 artists onto the Spanish Village courtyard alongside neighboring collectives including the San Diego Sculptors Guild, converting the park setting into Southern California's largest glass art exhibition. Custom commission projects that translate architectural specifications into site-specific blown or fused glass installations represent the Guild's most technically demanding output.
