Landini's Pizzeria

Italian & Pizza

About

Landini's Pizzeria in downtown San Diego's Little Italy has served New York-style thin-crust pizza by the slice from 1827 India Street since Florence native Leo Landini and San Diego native Christine Landini founded the shop in 2009. Hand-tossed dough stretched behind the counter and hand-selected meats from local butchers produce a pie that holds up to the classic New York fold, competing for the grab-and-go crowd on a block shared with the sit-down Sicilian menu at Mimmo's nearby. Florentine-inspired pasta dishes, lasagna, and panini layered with imported prosciutto, capocollo, and mozzarella extend the menu well past the by-the-slice counter for diners who want a full meal. The original Little Italy shop has since expanded to a stall in Point Loma's Liberty Public Market and a 1,386-square-foot Las Vegas location, making it a three-unit operation that still hand-tosses every pie. A dog-welcoming back patio and a late-night kitchen that runs into the early morning hours on weekends pull in the post-dinner crowd walking India Street, alongside the Italian bakery and restaurant program at Solunto Restaurant & Bakery on the same corridor. Whole-pie catering orders and multi-tray builds for large groups represent the highest-volume tickets the India Street kitchen fills during Little Italy Festa and peak weekend service.
