About

The Charter School of San Diego operates a second downtown San Diego campus at 1095 K Street Suite A, extending its WASC-accredited independent-study program for grades 6-12 into additional enrollment capacity near Petco Park. The Resource Center model matches each student one-on-one with a credentialed teacher for weekly appointments to build individualized graduation plans, covering the same UC a-g catalog available at San Diego High School through a self-paced alternative. California Common Core-aligned instruction spans core academics, science labs, and tutoring sessions in small groups, supplemented by technology-based activities and community field trips. The curriculum integrates digital literacy through the school's learning management platform, building technology skills that overlap with the test-preparation strategies taught at ETO in Bankers Hill. Founded in 1994 as the first K-12 charter authorized by San Diego Unified, the network now spans multiple Resource Centers serving students who need flexible scheduling for work, athletics, or personal circumstances.
