Adore Coffee House in downtown San Diego sits at 550 Cedar Street between Cortez Hill and Little Italy, an immigrant- and woman-owned café opened in July 2022 by a Ukrainian-born barista who trained in molecular culinary techniques in Kyiv before moving to San Diego in 2019. The signature Brave Latte layers turmeric and blue spirulina in the colors of the Ukrainian flag over espresso, a layered-drink technique that anchors a menu of Sakura Matcha, taro lattes, and rose cold brew built on organic espresso — a specialty-drink approach more ingredient-layered than the single-origin roast focus at Lofty Coffee Co. on the same downtown grid. The shop shares its space with Lunas Flowers, integrating a plant shop and florist into the café floor. Sourdough toasts — fig-and-goat-cheese, salmon, breakfast croissant — arrive on bread supplied by Shoreside Bakery, a Ukrainian baker whose weekend sourdough drops have become a draw at the Cedar Street counter. Coffee sourcing rotates between Mamai Coffee Company (a Ukrainian roaster), a veteran-owned roaster, and Talitha Koum Coffee Roasters, which directs proceeds toward survivors of human trafficking. Private event packages build custom canapé and layered-drink menus for groups hosted in the café's white-and-green interior.
