Neighborhood in downtown San Diego's East Village launched in 2007 as Consortium Holdings' first concept, a craft beer gastropub at 777 G Street that helped catalyze the company's expansion into more than a dozen San Diego venues. A hidden entrance behind a false wall of beer kegs leads to Noble Experiment, the speakeasy that debuted inside Neighborhood in 2010 and helped ignite San Diego's craft cocktail movement — now joined by Youngblood, a 16-seat prix-fixe cocktail den deeper in the building. The 2021 renovation by New York-based Home Studios tightened the dining room into a moodier, art-deco-inflected space centered on an upscale gastropub menu of bone marrow, steak frites with bone-marrow butter, house-ground smash burgers, pierogies, and a blooming onion. An extensive whiskey list anchors the bar program alongside draft cocktails and local craft beer, a maximalist approach shared with Consortium stablemate Craft & Commerce in Little Italy. Full-venue and partial buyouts handle multi-course tasting dinners, whiskey-pairing events, and private celebrations with dedicated bar and kitchen service across the main dining room and adjacent speakeasy spaces.
