About

Gaslamp Lumpia Factory in downtown San Diego's Gaslamp Quarter operates as the city's only pulutan bar, building a Filipino-American menu around lumpia from a steampunk-themed space on F Street. The kitchen produces spring rolls in multiple styles alongside pandesal sliders, pork belly sisig, and chicken adobo, a shareable Filipino format that stands apart from the plated New American presentations at Bronze Bird further up the Gaslamp corridor. Women-owned and launched in 2022, the concept honors the co-founder's late father, a retired Navy veteran who was stationed in San Diego before retiring in the Philippines. The weekend brunch program layers Filipino twists over egg dishes and pancakes, served with bottomless mimosas. Brass nautical fixtures, LED lighting, and sandalwood scents fill a design that contrasts sharply with the rustic-modern rooftop at Rustic Root a few blocks south on Fifth Avenue. Full-venue buyouts supply private groups with custom lumpia platters, adobo trays, and a sake-driven cocktail bar.
