About

Burger Lounge in downtown San Diego's Little Italy sources 100% grass-fed, grass-finished beef from single-source ranches in Wisconsin and Missouri for its counter-service menu at 1608 India Street. The La Jolla-founded chain — launched in 2007 — builds its signature Lounge Burger with organic cheeses, house-made 1000 Island, and produce from local growers, a sourcing philosophy that puts it in the same premium quick-service category as Shake Shack Little Italy on the same corridor. Beyond beef, the menu runs a Shelton Farms free-range turkey burger, an organic quinoa veggie patty made with brown rice and garbanzo, and an Impossible burger option — all served on artisan brioche buns. Dogs are welcome inside the dining room and on the patio, and the ingredient program carries GMO-free and Fair Trade certifications alongside the grass-fed beef sourcing, an artisan-food commitment shared with India Street neighbors like J & Tony's Cured Meats. The most complex builds layer truffle-mushroom and Swiss with truffle aioli, arugula, and crispy onions on a sesame-seed artisan brioche, running the full sear-and-assembly line alongside the fryer program for hand-cut onion rings and fries.
