L'Auberge Del Mar, the AAA Four Diamond resort at 1540 Camino Del Mar, sits on the historic site of the 1910 Stratford Inn, once a Hollywood celebrity retreat visited by Lucy and Desi Arnaz and Jimmy Durante. Demolished in 1969, the property was rebuilt by local resident Jim Watkins and reopened as L'Auberge in 1989, later receiving a $25 million renovation.
