The Marso family founded Valley Farm Market in Spring Valley in 1956, and third-generation owner Derek Marso — a former Kansas State and San Diego Chargers football player — opened this Del Mar location in January 2026 after nearly three years of planning. Inside, a full-service butcher counter offers USDA Prime steaks, custom cuts, and sustainable wild-caught seafood including fresh salmon, Mexican shrimp, and rockfish. The market stocks local organic produce, craft beer, wine, and hard-to-find specialty grocery items alongside Valley Farm's award-winning house-made products such as Imperial carne asada, pollo asado, beef tallow, artisan jerky, and signature seasonings.
