The interior preserves the last remaining horseshoe dining counter in Southern California, original jukeboxes, and the same building footprint that served Coronado Island through the Second World War — a retro-American landmark in the same stretch of Orange Avenue that houses Coronado Brewing Company to the south. Chicken Fried Steak & Eggs, the Strawberry Shortcake Waffle, hand-spun milkshakes, and house-baked pies anchor a breakfast-through-dinner menu with gluten-free options at every meal. Three concepts share the 979 Orange Avenue address: the main diner, a walk-up donut and coffee window, and Clayton's Mexican Takeout next door serving burritos and tacos from a separate counter. No reservations are accepted, and the horseshoe counter seats twelve on original stools that date to the 1942 build-out.
