As the first Black-owned water sports rental operation on Chula Vista's bayfront, R&R Surf Rentals launched as a veteran-owned enterprise at Safe Harbor Marina on Marina Parkway. The fleet spans crystal-clear kayaks, four-seat pedal-drive kayaks, Sea-Doo Switch self-drive boats, and luxury pontoon charters — a watercraft range broad enough to cover the same San Diego Bay territory serviced by Chula Vista Water Sports but with a distinct emphasis on captained charter experiences. eFoil and jet board lessons teach electric hydrofoil riding on flat bay water, while guided kayak tours navigate the adjacent wildlife corridor near Living Coast Discovery Center. An adaptive-equipment program is developing setups to get individuals with disabilities onto the water, expanding access beyond standard rental operations along the Chula Vista Marina. Sunset cruises along the bayfront pass the marina before turning north toward the Coronado Bridge, and dock-and-dine packages route pontoon groups to waterside restaurants including The Galley for post-cruise dining. Elliptical paddleboard rentals round out the self-propelled category, using a standing pedal-drive mechanism that generates forward motion without a traditional paddle stroke.
