Aviara Kip Puterbaugh Golf Academy in Carlsbad's Aviara district, established in 1991 at the Arnold Palmer–designed Aviara Golf Club overlooking Batiquitos Lagoon, is the longest continuously operating golf school in the western United States. Seven full-time Master Instructors — each with a minimum decade of tenure under the Puterbaugh curriculum — deliver one-to-three-day Total School intensives at a 3:1 student-teacher ratio, and the dedicated teaching facility deploys Swing Catalyst force plates, Foresight launch monitors, Gears 3D motion capture, and FlightScope radar for swing analysis uploaded to each student's personal video locker, a technology stack housed within the Park Hyatt Aviara Resort, Golf Club & Spa campus.
