Incorporated in 2001 under EIN 33-0965545, the San Diego Fleet Week Foundation in Point Loma coordinates the region's annual military celebration from its Midway District San Diego office on Midway Drive. Programming—ship tours, STEM education days, a Veterans Day boat parade, and a community breakfast aboard USS Midway—complements the year-round transition support provided by Veterans Village of San Diego for service members re-entering civilian life. All operating surpluses flow directly to charities that deliver critical support to military families in the San Diego region. A 2026 partnership with the Port of San Diego designates the foundation as the official nonprofit fundraising arm for the Big Bay Boom, the largest Fourth of July fireworks display on the West Coast. That event-production infrastructure also supports Hire Heroes USA's veteran employment workshops by supplying volunteer networks and venue logistics near Pechanga Arena. The foundation's most complex annual deliverable is the multi-day Broadway Pier activation, staging live naval vessel tours, Marine Corps equipment demonstrations, and Coast Guard search-and-rescue exhibits for more than 100,000 attendees.
