Recognized by the United States Senate ten years running, Motivated To Act in Point Loma, San Diego delivers its Confident Life™ anti-bullying curriculum from a Liberty Station office on Historic Decatur Road. The 501(c)(3) deploys multicultural lesson plans, the Junga the Dancing Yeti® book and film series, and live author visits to Title I classrooms, running a creative-arts pedagogy track that parallels the teaching-artist residencies coordinated by CoTA (Collaborations: Teachers & Artists). Each module targets grades K through 3, using read-aloud storytelling and facilitated discussion to build empathy, inclusion, and age-appropriate conflict-resolution skills before behavioral patterns set in. The third book in the Junga series layers sportsmanship into its anti-discrimination framework and features five former NFL players in the companion film. Multicultural dance-troupe competitions and community festival events extend the curriculum beyond the classroom, complementing the project-based learning environment that High Tech Elementary cultivates on the same Liberty Station campus. At full deployment, the program packages its complete cycle — lesson plans, bilingual resource guides, live presenter visits, and measurable outcome tracking — into district-wide rollouts that have reached more than 700 students across San Diego County.
