Black-, Queer-, and Sex-worker-owned since 2022, The Pole Collective sits in Point Loma's Liberty Station on Barnett Avenue. The studio's curriculum spans static pole, spinning pole, heels-and-flow, and floorwork across beginner through advanced tracks, a pole-apparatus focus that complements the trapeze, silks, and lyra work at San Diego Circus Center. The space is built as a transgender safespace with gender-neutral facilities, and instructors teach body-neutral cuing that treats pole as embodiment practice rather than competitive sport. Class formats include drop-in technique, choreography series, private one-on-ones, and bachelorette parties, with spotters present during tricks and inverts. Burlesque and sensual-movement workshops host practitioners exploring performance styles beyond fitness, adding a pole-arts counterpart to the aerial-hammock and kids-aerial programming at Liberty Station neighbor If I Was A Bird Yoga. Private showcase coaching prepares students for pole competitions, community show nights, and full-length solo pieces, building floor-to-top routines that integrate tricks, transitions, music phrasing, and stage presence across multi-month training arcs.
