About

Pilchuck Glass School-trained artist LeightWorks in Point Loma's Liberty Station hand-cuts optic glass and natural crystal, layering each piece with precious metals to produce a prismatic internal glow — a signature technique developed in San Diego since 2004. Each pendant, ring, or earring is frost-finished or polished and set into hand-fabricated sterling silver or gold mountings at the Barracks 15 studio, a glass-to-jewelry pipeline that parallels the medium-crossing work at Hawaii Fluid Art, where fluid acrylic becomes wall art. The Aurora line uses stainless steel and 18k gold stainless settings for everyday wear, while the original crystal collection retains hand-forged sterling silver for collectors. The retail channel extends beyond the Liberty Station studio through wholesale partnerships with more than fifty boutiques, museum shops, and gallery stores across the U.S., placing hand-cut San Diego crystal alongside the regionally curated collections shown at the Nautical History Gallery & Museum. The most involved custom commissions pair client-selected color blends with matching pendant-and-earring sets, each cut from the same crystal blank to ensure identical internal refraction across the suite.
