About

A 1,000-vendor weekend flea market in Point Loma's Pechanga Arena parking lot, Kobey's Swap Meet has run the site since August 1980. The market operates on the 35-acre Sports Arena Boulevard lot, sharing a Pechanga Arena-area vintage corridor with Kurtz Street neighbor Kurtz Street Antique Mall - Consignment Classics. The swap meet launched in 1976 at the old Midway Drive-In Theater with 13 vendors before relocating to the newly built Sports Arena in 1980, and the business now runs under third-generation Kobey-Pretto ownership. Kobey's Vintage Alley runs the last Saturday of each month since 2019 as a clothing-and-curio showcase, with overlap between its sneaker-and-vintage sellers and the weekday vendor roster at Sea Hive Station. Vendors selling new or handcrafted merchandise must hold a California State Board of Equalization Seller's Permit listing the 3500 Sports Arena Blvd address, with separate Health Permits required for food vendors and County of San Diego Health Department compliance for anyone selling animals. The flagship specialty event is the Kobey's Sneaker and Vintage Clothing Swap Meet, pulling 300-plus sneaker and vintage apparel vendors and over 10,000 shoppers across the weekend in a nationwide-draw showcase featuring authenticated Jordans, Yeezys, and archival streetwear alongside the regular market.
