Operated by Navy Morale, Welfare & Recreation, Naval Base Point Loma Pool in Point Loma provides a 25-yard, five-lane heated outdoor pool on Kephart Road for active-duty personnel, retirees, and DoD civilians stationed on the peninsula near Fort Rosecrans. Year-round lap swim and conditioning sessions support fleet readiness alongside the dive-preparation fitness required before certification courses at Blue Star Scuba. The aquatics program runs group Learn-to-Swim sessions for service members' children starting at six months through a Parent & Child class, plus preschool levels for ages four and five. Post-surgical and return-to-duty rehabilitation swimmers use the pool's low-impact lane environment in coordination with providers like Community Care Physical Therapy at nearby Liberty Station. Private and semi-private stroke-correction lessons run four-session blocks covering distance benchmarks from 25 to 100 yards for personnel preparing for combat-swimmer qualification or PRT improvement.
