Founded by Christina "Fritz" Stang, a former US Women's Rink Hockey team member and two-time WFTDA Championship silver medalist, Fritzy's Roller Skate Shop is a women-owned skate shop at 4150 Mission Blvd Suite 161, San Diego, CA 92109. Christina signed her lease in December 2019 and planned a grand opening for March 20, 2020, but the pandemic forced a rapid pivot to online sales that turned the fledgling store into a shipping powerhouse handling thousands of orders within weeks. The BBB lists Fritzy's with an A+ rating, a business start date of March 1, 2020, and sole proprietorship status. Today the Pacific Beach flagship spans over 2,000 square feet of retail space one block from the boardwalk, and skaters who rent quads or inlines for the afternoon often refuel afterward at 710 Beach Club just a few blocks north on Garnet. Store manager Chalice Aguilar and shipping lead Brett Stang round out the core team, and reviewers on Google frequently praise the staff's patience with first-time skaters choosing their setup. Fritzy's also offers custom shoe-skate conversions starting at $250, where customers bring their own shoes and the shop mounts plates and wheels to spec. The brand has grown to include a second San Diego location inside Skateworld and additional outposts, while Christina also co-owns Skateworld San Diego, Skateworld Tacoma, and Upbuild Fabrication. With 28,000-plus Instagram followers and consistent five-star praise for its inclusive, judgment-free atmosphere, Fritzy's has become a destination shop for the national roller skating community, many of whom also explore the boardwalk dining scene at Sandbar Sports Grill.
