Board-certified in both family medicine and sports medicine, Dr. Alexandra R. Myers, DO, MSHS practices at San Diego Sports Medicine & Family Health Center, 1945 Garnet Ave, San Diego, CA 92109. She completed a sports medicine fellowship at the practice in 2014 after earning her BA in biology and Spanish at Cornell College and her DO and MSHS degrees at Western University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific. Dr. Myers also holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine and is a Fellow of the American Osteopathic Academy of Sports Medicine. Athletes recovering from sports injuries may benefit from follow-up rehabilitation at SHEFit Physical Therapy, also serving the Pacific Beach community. Her current roles extend well beyond the exam room: she serves as Director of Women's Athletic Medicine at San Diego State University and as team physician for both the USA Rugby Sevens women's and men's programs. She also consults for the University of San Diego and has worked with Santa Fe Christian High School, San Diego Christian College, San Diego City College, and Cuyamaca College over the past decade. Dr. Myers is the current President of the San Diego Osteopathic Medical Association and a former President of the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons of California, and she has lectured internationally on sports medicine and osteopathic medicine. She is bilingual in Spanish and volunteers regularly on medical missions to Mexico with Liga International and to Haiti with Global Health Teams. The urgent care side of the practice offers on-site digital X-ray and lab testing, and appointments are available seven days a week, with extended hours until 8 p.m. on weekdays.
