Serving the Pacific Beach community since 1967, St. Andrew's By The Sea Episcopal Preschool operates at 1050 Thomas Ave, 92109, as a nonprofit ministry of St. Andrew's by-the-Sea Episcopal Church. The church itself traces its roots to 1928 and moved to the Thomas Avenue property in 1949, adding the preschool nearly two decades later to meet growing demand from young families in the area. Classroom teachers include Miss Eva, who has taught at St. Andrew's since 2012 and brings over 15 years of preschool experience, and Patrece, a PB local with more than 30 years working with children who leads garden activities in the Starfish classroom. The school holds a 4.9-star Google rating across eight reviews, with a licensed capacity of 70 children, and it offers a transitional kindergarten track that uses a place-based approach to early childhood learning. A few blocks north on Turquoise Street, Seaside Preschool provides a play-based alternative with extended hours until 6 p.m. for families needing later pickup.
