About

Crown Point Park is a 27-acre bayside destination on Crown Point Dr in the Pacific Beach neighborhood of San Diego, 92109. The park is divided into three permitted sections—North, Middle, and South—each with its own capacity and amenities. Crown Point Middle accommodates permitted events of up to 400 guests and allows up to two inflatables, while the South section holds 350 and the North section caps at 200. A public boat launch on the eastern shore gives direct access to Mission Bay's open-water ski zone, where boats, jet skis, and wakeboarders cruise between Crown Point, Fiesta Island, and Vacation Isle. Post-launch refueling is easy at Pacific Beach AleHouse on Garnet Avenue, a neighborhood staple for craft beers and pub fare. Two challenge basketball courts sit near the Middle section, and the flat sandy area at the park's southern end hosts beach volleyball tournaments throughout the year. Adjacent to the North section, the Kendall Frost Mission Bay Marsh Reserve and Northern Wildlife Preserve attract birdwatchers scanning for herons, terns, and shorebirds. Three large parking lots keep congestion manageable even on summer weekends, and the lots close at 10 p.m. Lifeguards are staffed from spring break through October, daily in summer and weekends in shoulder months. Post-volleyball crowds often migrate to Sandbar Sports Grill on Mission Boulevard for game-day specials and late-night tacos. On clear evenings, the downtown San Diego skyline reflects across the bay, and SeaWorld fireworks light up the southern horizon.
